Cookie Policy
Effective Date: June 25, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Roemance™ (“Roemance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the Roemance progressive web application at roemance.app(the “App”).
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website or application. They are widely used to make websites work, to enhance security, and to provide information to site operators. Cookies may be “first-party” (set by the site you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by a domain other than the one you are visiting).
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookie (First-Party)
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session ID | Authenticates your login session. Contains only a random session identifier — no personal data. | Expires when the session ends or after the configured session timeout | First-party, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict |
This cookie is strictly necessary for the App to function when you are logged in. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, but we disclose them here for full transparency.
2.2 Third-Party Cookies (Google Fonts)
| Source | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com | The App loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these files, Google may receive your IP address and may set cookies for caching and performance purposes. | Third-party |
We do not control and are not responsible for cookies set by Google. Google’s use of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
We do not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Tracking pixels or web beacons
- Social media cookies or widgets
- Analytics cookies (we do not use Google Analytics or any similar tracking service)
- Any cookies for the purpose of cross-site tracking, behavioral profiling, or advertising
4. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, the App uses your browser’s local storage to store tasting log data on your device. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly create an account and choose to migrate it to the server. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these options under “Settings,” “Privacy,” or “Cookies.” You can choose to block or delete cookies, but please note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from logging in to your Roemance account.
For more information about managing cookies in your specific browser, visit your browser’s help documentation.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If we introduce new categories of cookies (such as analytics cookies), we will update this policy before deploying them and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
